Steps to reproduce the bug

1. FossifyPhone is set as the default dialer.
2. The system dialer is not disabled in accordance with the recommendation for emergency calls (Google Phone app).
3. Make a phone call.

Expected behavior

FossifyPhone remains the operating app at all times during the phone call.

Actual behavior

Without any action on the part of the user, the phone app occasionally and irregularly switches to the system dialer during a call.

Whether the phenomenon is limited to incoming or outgoing calls is currently unclear and requires further observation.

I didn't explicitly notice a crash. But it probably doesn't have to manifest itself in the form of “the current screen collapsing into the app icon.”

Thinking about it, it occurs to me that the app was probably always running in the background and I was making calls via speakerphone while using other apps such as browsers and the like at the same time.
When I wanted to switch back to FossifyDialer, Google Dialer would pop up unexpectedly.

Yes, I used the call log, at least when the phenomenon last occurred.

But that doesn't rule out the contact tab. I'll have to take another look at that.

The phenomenon also occurs with incoming phone calls, as has been demonstrated today.

Do you mean the number of outgoing and incoming calls affected or the number of phone numbers in the call log?

There have been about 10 calls affected since the issue was raised. Everything worked fine for far more calls than that.

Sorry, I mean the total number of list items displayed on the Call history tab. You can find this in the top-left corner after you long-press at least one call item.
