copilot_here overwrites PATH destroying the existing PATH

This line: drops the old PATH and completely replaces it:

When using copilot_here on wsl this leads to vscode (cmd "code .") not to be found from wsl as the PATH is taken over from windows but then the changes to the .bashrc from copilot_here overwrites the path.

This is easy to fix manually once you understand the issue (that takes time), pls add it to the copilot_here deplyoment/installation scripts so users get it by default and do not need to manually fix it.
The previous post seems AI generated and gives an exe to execute, I think this is not safe and should not be used by anyone!

Fixed in #131, merged as 523b95e.

The cause was an unquoted heredoc in __copilot_update_profile: $HOME and $PATH were expanded when the block was written, so your profile ended up holding a copy of PATH from install time and every new shell replaced the live PATH with it. On WSL that drops the Windows entries, which is why code . stopped resolving. Your diagnosis was right.

You don't need to edit .bashrc yourself. Run copilot_here --update once the next release is out and it rewrites the block in place, keeping the rest of your profile as it is. Review of the fix turned up four more problems in the same area, so the update also handles profiles that are UTF-16 or saved in a legacy code page rather than only rewriting them as UTF-8.
