Is Android 5.0 still supported?

Hello! I've been a Pipepipe user for a couple months now, and I've been using the v7a variant of the releases on my Android 5.0 tablet.

The 5.2.0 release's apk, as well as beta apks, keep giving me "Parse error" whenever i try to open the file.

I just wanted to ask if Android 5.0 support was perhaps dropped without it making into the changelogs? or if this is just a bugged apk or something?

i'm asking this here because i didn't wanna look obnoxious by opening an issue thingy for this since it's seemingly only affecting me, so i apologize if this is the wrong place to be asking about this.

Same... my Galaxy Core Prime is perfectly fine and its only problem is that almost nothing supports Lollipop anymore. At least Telegram works I suppose.

The best thing I've been able to find is notPipe, but unlike what the name suggests, it has nothing to do with PipePipe/NewPipe. No UI similarities for example.
But it should do the job if you just want YouTube.

@BOplaid @BigPiddles I'm maintainer of notPipe, out of interest have you tried SkyTube or does it not work? https://github.com/SkyTubeTeam/SkyTube It connects to YouTube directly and the main edition supports Android 4.4+, while the Legacy branch supports even 4.0-4.1.
I might add a Modern theme into notPipe for such cases, as I didn't think that notPipe would be used on Android 4.4+ (since SkyTube exists and worked fine when I was developing notPipe). The name "notPipe" more implies that it's not like any other Pipe because it doesn't connect to YouTube directly and uses community backends, so SkyTube is better in that regard.

@gohoski Hey, sorry for the late reply i only just saw this.

yeah i did already try Skytube back before posting this question, it does technically work but it only plays videos in 360p max. even if you force it to only play any resolutions higher than 360p it just ends up throwing errors.

youtube's web version might be last resort after all, despite it being badly designed and only playing 30fps even for 720p/1080p
