Cal Poly - SLO
What is your institutions domain name
calpoly.edu.
What is your Runestone Academy username?
iambethchance
What LMS do you use?
Canvas
We are using Runestone with Canvas via LTI 1.3. Some students had already created Runestone accounts and completed work before accessing a Runestone assignment through Canvas. When they launched the Canvas assignment, duplicate Runestone users appear to have been created.
For example, one student now appears in my Runestone course as:
Cole Fuller — username Crfuller
This account contains his existing assignment/activity data.
COLE RYAN FULLER — username crfuller@calpoly.edu
This appears to be the account created/associated by the Canvas LTI launch and contains little/no prior activity.
Is it possible to change the LTI 1.3 user mapping so that this student's Canvas identity maps to the existing Crfuller Runestone user, preserving his existing work? We have several students with this issue, so if there is a way to repair the mappings in bulk, that would be ideal.
We do not want to delete or overwrite the existing student activity
