Summary
/get-started/get-funded presents four funding pathways in the present tense, with no dates and no status. Checked today (2026-07-14), three of the four are not running. We build on Base and used this page to plan which programs to pursue, which is how we found it.
1. Weekly Rewards ("2 ETH in weekly rewards ... through Talent Protocol")
The page says "The Builder Rewards Program distributes 2 ETH weekly to active builders" and links "Join Builder Rewards Program".
- Talent Protocol's own Base page renders a banner reading "Base Campaign Has Ended", plus a "Get notified when Base launches a new campaign on Talent" waitlist: https://talent.app/~/ecosystems/base
- Every Base campaign there is listed under Past Campaigns. The most recent is "Top Base Builders: January", ended Jan 31, 2026.
- The "weekly 2 ETH to the top 100 builders with Basenames" structure the page describes matches "Top Base Builders: Spring", which ended Jul 14, 2025, exactly one year ago today.
builderscore.xyz, still linked from this page, now 301s to talent.app.
Note this only reproduces in a real browser. curl against talent.app returns a bot wall, so an HTTP level check misses the banner.
2. OP Retro Funding
The page presents this as an active pathway and links Atlas. Optimism's own Season 9 post, dated 2026-01-08, says:
"The Retro Funding program will be paused to reevaluate how it fits into Optimism's long term strategy."
"The Retro Funding program will not run for at least the next 12 months."
https://www.optimism.io/blog/season-9-from-experiment-to-organization
That pause runs through at least January 2027, so the pathway is not available today.
3. Base Batches
Presented without a cohort or a window. The 2026 cycle has closed: applications ran to March/April 2026 and Demo Day was in May 2026. No 004 cohort has been announced.
4. Builder Grants
This one still has an open nomination form, so it looks like the only live pathway of the four.
Why this matters
The page reads as authoritative and is the top result for people looking for Base funding. Because nothing is dated, a reader cannot tell that most of it describes 2025. #1557 looks like the same confusion from a different angle.
Suggested fix
Any of these would resolve it:
- Add a status and a "last verified" date to each pathway, so a stale entry is visible as stale.
- Move Weekly Rewards, OP Retro Funding, and Base Batches into a "paused or between cohorts" section until a cohort is announced, and drop the
builderscore.xyz link.
- Keep Builder Grants as the one open pathway, and point Base Batches at the next window when it is set.
Happy to open a PR with the copy if that is useful.
