WMV input?

I am getting an error: "av_stream_open(): unable to find codec" when I try to open a *.wmv file. Is there anything I should do to make it work? OS; Windows x86, PHP 56 nts. I am using the latest 32-bits shared build by Zeranoe. The FFmpeg.exe in that build supports WMV-input.

WMV files can be be encoded in a number of different codecs. It's possible that you have a file that uses an unrecognized codec.

ffmpeg (and ffplay) reconize the codec very well:

Stream #0:0(eng): Audio: wmav2 (a[1][0][0] / 0x0161), 8000 Hz, 1 channels, fltp, 8 kb/s
Stream #0:1(eng): Video: wmv1 (WMV1 / 0x31564D57), yuv420p, 1280x1024, 1000 kb/s, 5 tbr, 1k tbn, 1k tbc

Yet, php_av, using the same avcodec.dll does not recognize the codec.

Without seeing the file it's hard to speculate.

Is the av extension able to make a frame image for this file?
It is a file created by the wrf2wmv converter from Webex:

It has some issues which lead to a 500 status when I try to make a thumbnail with the php-ffmpeg extension.
