[Feature Request]: Remember Post-it positions

Hello,
Currently, Jorts resets all sticky notes to the center of the screen upon reopening.

It would be nice if Jorts could remember and restore the exact screen position (X/Y coordinates) of each sticky note when the application is restarted.

I wish, honestly! Jorts used to do that. But thats impossible now.

On modern display systems ("Wayland"), applications arent allowed to position themselves.
On older display systems ("X11"), they are, but... GTK4, the toolkit this app uses to draw anything, removed the ability to position windows, in anticipation.

It is up to the Window Manager now to restore window position. So this should be considered a bug and reported to them. If you use Gnome/Ubuntu that would be "Mutter". If you use KDE, that would be KWin

It's the same for pinning a window on top of all others. You can do it via right-click -> "Always on top", but the ability for me to offer a button to do just that has been removed.

A way to do this, is probably to develop an pinboard window on which notes could be positionned and sized.
So inside this pinboard window, positions and sizes of notes could be saved and restored.
Gtk4 can do something like this, as an example see gnome pods app :

Each card could be a note, left menu could be categories tree, and maybe tags ...

Yeah, but then it wouldnt be Jorts anymore. It would be yet another one window note taking app.

On windows, notes are restored to the left, where the icons are usually there

I noticed! We use it on our work computer, thats how we could test it for windows

The issue is the same in that the library the app uses to draw windows still doesnt allow positioning. I can try filing a bug report to them.

The pinboard proposal gave me an excellent idea! If I use obsidian with canvas, each card can be a post-it note. I can resize each card and also I can connect cards. Great!
