I just created a new issue where the import from exported PDF files from Adobe InDesign is not working correct. The keywords are missing after the upload to TYPO3. Maybe this is related to the outdated ZendPdf library?

Yesterday I created an issue that the content_creation_date and content_modification_date are not imported from PDFs.

There is also an issue importing those dates from images:

I have the following dates in the image

and this gets imported into TYPO3

It seems like that ZendPdf is abandoned: https://github.com/zendframework/ZendPdf and TCPDF is recommend :/ or is there a newer version somewhere?

Okay, good. I did not have such use cases yet. Found out that https://github.com/agungsijawir/ZendPdf is the most actual version, with some bugfixes, but not explicit PHP 7 compatible.
If you can reproduce the bugs you mentioned, you could try to test a newer ZendPdf version within EXT:metadata
