Revert #758 when we pick up component-detection 5.1.6 or newer #782

We added #758 as a temporary fix with a comment that it would eventually be reverted. Now that microsoft/component-detection#1279 has been merged and released in https://github.com/microsoft/component-detection/releases/tag/v5.1.6, we should be able to revert #758 once we update our version of component-detection
