Build multiple websites

Hey,

I'm new to Supabase, but I have an idea to build multiple apps for friends. Is it a smart idea to build multiple projects in Supabase so these projects stay separated from each other? Or can I do it on the same project? One app will save videos and share with multiple users, and the other app will simplify the administration of his work. So they are two totally different apps. I don't have any knowledge about this.

If your apps are unrelated, it’s usually better to create separate Supabase projects, because:

• Separate auth pools - Supabase Auth is per project. If both apps share a project, all users will be in the same pool, and you’d need extra logic to keep their data apart.
• Performance isolation - If one app becomes heavy (e.g., large uploads), it could slow down the other if they share the same project.
• Easier management - Sharing one database for unrelated apps makes schema and policy management harder over time.

That said, if they’re just different frontends for the same core data (e.g., web + mobile version of the same app), keeping them in the same project can make sense.
