Make an HTML5 web app for signing in

I know that @nt1st has talked about making something like this for a while so I decided to look some stuff up. The main idea behind the app would be for marking off your attendance but only if you're at the right location.
I found this information; I'm not sure how useful it is but ¯\ (ツ) /¯ :

• Mozilla Foundation - Foundations of an HTML5 web app
• Sitepoint - Talks about using location in web apps
• Envato Tuts+ - Geolocation - It's from 2010 but it seems useful

This is something that definitely needs more discussion but I think it's a really good idea.
