Windows 8.1 reported instead of Win11 (when using Wine v10)

Do you guys see anything wrong with this picture (see screenshot below)? Perhaps the most unsettling aspect is the fact that this machine (which was designed as a 64-bit Windows 11(!)), has been built on Wine 32-bit. How do I change that to Wine 64-bit? How do I make Wine64 the default?

I removed that feature: c8c5e86

Because people think it's a good thing to run wine 64-bit, while it then can no longer create 32-bit Wine bottles. Hence I removed it. Now I will also remove it's will be saying 32-bit in the GUI, since you think it's a bad thing, but it's actually good.

Also, like I said, I wanted Windows 11. How come I ended up with Windows 8?

I see, well that could be because of Winetricks maybe. Try to force a self-update (although WineGUI should do that already for you):

~/.local/share/winegui/winetricks --self-update

THat means something is wrong with my WineGUI "detection" system. Detecting the windows version under Wine is very complex (for unknown reasons).

I am having the same issue but with Windows 10. I believe you are right about the detection system. Is there a way to manually force the detected system? Does the detected system affect the way it installs winetricks or anything? Or is that just a visual helper.

I will look to the windows detect code again and try to improve it. However, I can't replicate the issue locally at my computer. Maybe I should try Arch Linux with Wine v10.

Anyhow, do not worry. If winecfg is saying Windows 10, it's Windows 10. (And generally speaking most applications don't really care about the Windows version in the first place.)
