What
Adds Cycles to the Inference → AI Gateway section, inserted alphabetically after APISIX.
What is Cycles
Cycles is an open-source (Apache 2.0) runtime authority layer for AI agents. It wraps LLM and tool calls in a
reserve / execute / commit / releaselifecycle to enforce hard limits on spend, risk, and tool actions before agents execute - multi-tenant, concurrency-safe.Why AI Gateway
Cycles sits in the same architectural slot as the other entries here (agentgateway, APISIX, Envoy AI Gateway, Higress, Kong) - it is a control plane for traffic to LLM providers and agent tools. The differentiator is the enforcement model:
reservereturns a budget+permission token that callers must commit/release, rather than middleware-style header injection.Followed the existing bullet format (3 badges: Stars / Contributors / LastCommit).
Thanks for maintaining the list.
